Work Location: Partially Remote with Travel to Maine
Duration: 6+ Month Contract
About the Role:
Our client is seeking a Director-level Subject Matter Expert (SME) specializing in Clinical Variation within Procedural Services. This role focuses on improving operational efficiency, patient safety, and cost-effectiveness across perioperative services, endoscopy, interventional radiology, sterile processing, post-anesthesia care units, and pre-admission testing in both acute care and ambulatory surgery settings.
You will partner with healthcare organizations to deliver transformational solutions, optimize workflows, integrate advanced technologies, and foster interprofessional collaboration to elevate patient care standards while ensuring financial sustainability.
Responsibilities:
- Lead
Initiatives: Develop and
implement best practices in procedural services to improve patient care
and operational efficiency.
- Clinical
Expertise: Advise on
protocols, policies, and procedures for perioperative care, endoscopy,
sterile processing, anesthesia testing, and interventional procedures.
- Data
Analysis: Evaluate clinical and
operational data to identify trends, improve outcomes, and guide
decision-making.
- Collaboration: Work with interdisciplinary teams to
ensure seamless patient transitions and foster collaboration.
- Training: Design and deliver training programs to
enhance understanding of procedural standards.
- Innovation: Recommend cutting-edge technologies and
practices to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to regulatory
requirements and accreditation standards.
- Cost
Management: Identify
opportunities for cost reduction while maintaining quality care.
- Stakeholder
Engagement: Collaborate
with executives and physicians to align strategies with organizational
goals.
- Continuous
Improvement: Drive
quality and performance improvement initiatives.
- Client
Delivery: Present executive-level reports
and dashboards demonstrating outcome trends.
- Strategic
Planning: Assess, design, and implement
client goals related to clinical variation initiatives.
- Team
Leadership: Manage team
members directly or in a matrixed environment.
- Business
Development: Support
proposal development and best practice methodology design.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's
degree in Nursing
- 7+ years of
experience in large acute care and/or ambulatory operations within
procedural settings (e.g., perioperative services)
- Proven
success in driving efficiency, growth, and cost reduction
- Experience
in highly matrixed organizations
- Strong
skills in developing operating plans, analyzing financial and quality data
- Ability to
engage physicians and senior leadership effectively
- Demonstrated
success in clinical variation initiatives
- Proficiency
in Microsoft Office and presentation development
- Willingness
to travel up to 75%
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's
degree
- Clinical
consulting experience across multiple improvement areas
- Experience
in provider management or clinical transformation consulting
- Expertise in
cost reduction and clinical transformation methodologies
- Strong
understanding of health systems and provider organizations
