Position Overview
The QC Computer Technician is responsible for supporting quality control and food safety operations through accurate data entry, system management, and technical support within our blueberry consolidation facility. This role ensures all receiving, storage, and shipping quality data is correctly captured, maintained, and reported to support product integrity, traceability, and customer compliance.
The Technician works closely with Quality Control, Operations, and Facility Leadership to support real-time decision-making during high-volume, time-sensitive harvest operations. Accuracy, attention to detail, and comfort working with computer systems in a production environment are essential to success in this role.
Seasonal position from late March to mid-July.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately enter and maintain quality control, receiving, inventory, and shipping data in facility computer systems.
- Ensure complete tracking and traceability records from receiving through outbound shipment.
- Record quality inspection results include temperature checks, condition assessments, and defect observations.
- Maintain electronic food safety, quality, and cold-chain monitoring logs.
- Generate daily and weekly QC, receiving, and shipping reports for management and quality teams.
- Support barcode scanning, labeling, and traceability systems to ensure accurate product identification.
- Troubleshoot basic computer, printer, scanner, and label system issues related to QC and shipping functions.
- Review shipping documents, bills of lading, and customer specifications for accuracy and compliance prior to shipment.
- Identify data discrepancies or quality concerns and communicate findings to supervisors or quality management.
- Support internal and external audits by organizing and providing electronic quality and traceability records.
- Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of all quality and operational data.
- Follow all food safety, quality, and workplace safety policies while working in office, dock, and cold storage environments.
Qualifications & Experience
- 1 3 years of experience in quality control, data entry, administrative support, or inventory systems within food, agriculture, or warehouse operations.
- Strong computer skills, including data entry, spreadsheets, and reporting tools.
- Familiarity with traceability, inventory, WMS, or ERP systems preferred.
- High attention to detail and ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with QC, operations, and management teams.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and extended hours during domestic season.
