Job Title: Automation Engineering Manager
Location: Marietta, GA or Columbus, OH
Job Type: Full-Time, On-Site
Salary: $130K - $150K
Must Haves:
- Work experience with custom machine integrator or
manufacturing OEM
- Hands on robot programming experience with fanuc,
Universal Robots, Techman, Epson, Yaskawa, KUKA, or equivalent
- Hands on machine building experience: assembling,
testing, training, supporting.
Overview
We're seeking a hands-on Manager of Automation Engineering to lead a team in designing and delivering advanced automation solutions for industrial clients. This role combines technical leadership, project management, and cross-functional collaboration to drive innovation from concept to commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Mentor and grow a high-performing engineering team; foster a culture of innovation and accountability.
- Automation Systems: Oversee design and integration of PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, robotics, and control systems.
- Project Execution: Manage full lifecycle of automation projects-scope, budget, timeline, and delivery.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Sales, Operations, IT, and vendors to align solutions with business goals.
- Continuous Improvement: Champion new technologies and process enhancements to boost performance and reliability.
- Compliance & Support: Ensure safety standards are met; provide post-installation support and training.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's in Electrical, Mechanical, Automation, Robotics, or related field.
- Experience: 10+ years in automation/system integration; 5+ years in engineering leadership.
- Technical Skills: PLC programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley), HMI/SCADA, robotics, industrial protocols, AutoCAD.
- Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
Work Environment
- Mix of office, lab, and customer sites; occasional travel required.
- Flexible schedule with potential overtime during key project phases.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in industrial settings, lift up to 50 lbs, and navigate job sites safely.
